Library visits are a fun part of childhood, but can be a challenging experience for those with special needs. The directors at Danbury Public Library wanted to change that.

With a closed-off glass partition, the dimensions of the calming area were clearly defined. A full-wall Interactive Calming Station, combining several pieces of equipment, is a great space-saver. Calming seating, cubes and weighted stuffed animals let kids relax, and the noise-canceling headphones support those with auditory sensitivities.

With well over 100 reservations per month, this room has far exceeded the library’s staff expectations.
